Dee’s Clay Candlestick Kit
Learn how to make a candlestick from air dry clay
In Dee’s Clay Candlestick Kit, you’ll receive everything you need to hand-build and decorate your very own clay candlesticks, from air drying clay and a clayworker’s sponge through to an array of useful pottery tools and acrylic paints to bring your creation to life. You’ll use these alongside the artist tutorial video, which will guide you through the making process, from start to finish.
About your tutor and kit
You’ll be in safe hands with our longstanding tutor Dee Barnes, who has over 35 years’ experience working with clay. She’s a creator of hand-built ceramics, rather than throwing on a pottery wheel, and has run classes at Attenborough Arts Centre since 2015.
In her tutorial video, which you can pause, rewind and play back as much or as little as you like, Dee will give you an understanding of the different types of clay and materials you'll be using, the techniques you need to build your clay candlestick, and how best to paint your finished masterpiece.
Who’s the kit for?
Dee’s Clay Candlestick Kit is ideal for creators of all abilities – from complete beginners through to hobbyist clayworkers who want to refine their technique. In Dee’s tutorial video, she’ll share her tips, tricks and artist's secrets, so you can get the most from your creative experience.
